This position plays a vital role in maintaining safe, welcoming, and well-organized residential spaces for youth experiencing or at risk of homelessness. The ideal candidate is compassionate, organized, and ready to support youth as they work toward stability and independence.
Position Overview
The Program Assistant oversees the day-to-day operations of Youth Oasis residential homes, ensuring that each space remains safe, compliant, and youth-friendly. This position also coordinates and provides transportation for residents to appointments, school, employment, and community activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily house operations, cleanliness, and safety compliance.
- Conduct regular property inspections and coordinate maintenance needs.
- Manage household inventory and ensure supplies are well stocked.
- Safely transport youth to appointments and approved destinations.
- Maintain accurate transportation logs and vehicle maintenance records.
- Support program staff with scheduling, documentation, and coverage needs.
- Promote a positive and trauma-informed environment for residents.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with youth or in residential settings.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
- Must pass background and driving history checks.
