BASIC FUNCTION
The Youth Horizons Maintenance Manager is responsible for managing all installation, repair, and upkeep operations for our company's facilities, vehicles, and grounds. Duties include, but are not limited to, maintaining machinery, interior and exterior building repair, upkeep of the grounds, pest control, activity set up and tear down, transport of items for events, facilitating state safety inspections, working with utility providers, developing maintenance procedures, and leading of maintenance staff. The Maintenance Team may be engaged in overseeing youth in learning and performing some maintenance tasks.
REQUIREMENTS
● High school diploma
● Bachelor's degree is preferred but not required
● Strong leadership and supervisory skills
● Exceptional organizational skills and ability to handle multiple priorities at the same time; flexibility
● Ability to be adaptable to organizational priorities and budget needs
● Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
● Ability to demonstrate patience, compassion, and wisdom when working with and around youth
● A minimum of 5 years' experience in maintenance
● Working technical understanding of plumbing, carpentry, electrical, and mechanical functions
● Strong knowledge in maintenance related to grounds and landscaping, interior and exterior buildings, home appliances, HVAC, vehicles, and equipment
● Previous managerial experience is preferred
● Effective written and computer skills
● Willingness to take after hours calls in crisis situations
RESPONSIBILITIES AND CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES
● Supervise, coordinate, and/or execute all maintenance processes and operations
● From a facility perspective, do the work required to ensure the safety and comfort of residents in a timely manner
● Track expenses and oversee the budget for maintenance
● Maintain all machinery, appliances, and vehicles to ensure its at working standards
● Create and implement maintenance procedures
● Conduct regular inspections of the facilities to detect and resolve problems
● Manage maintenance requests from all Youth Horizons staff
● Ensure all maintenance employees adhere to the safety policies and procedures as well as general guidelines for working with youth
● Assign repair schedules and evaluate repair cost estimates
● Document and inventory of supplies/equipment and maintenance logs
● Oversee equipment stock and place orders for new equipment and supplies when necessary
● Take emergency calls and make determinations of steps needed to resolve crisis situations
● Under the guidance of residential program leaders, maintenance staff may guide youth in some maintenance activities; this responsibility excludes any disciplinary measures (all discplinary actions must be conducted by house staff trained in trauma informed care and the Youth Horizons behavior modification program)
TERMS
● Attend bi-weekly or monthly meetings with the Senior Director of Residential Programs and communicate with Wren and Downtown leadership as needed
● Participate in team meetings as required
● Attend Youth Horizons Huddles monthly and complete training as required
● Equipment and tools will be provided by Youth Horizons
● Full time maintenance staff may not engage in outside employment that conflicts with the philosophy of Youth Horizons or with scheduled work hours.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
· The maintenance team must be able to work productively outdoors and in the year-round climate as needed to satisfy maintenance responsibilities
· The maintenance team must be able to meet the physical demands associated with the work required
Job Type: Full-time (40 hours / week); evening and weekend work may occasionally be required
Pay: Starting at $20 to $23 per hour based on experience and other qualifications
