Location: 20400 Colonel Glenn, Little Rock, AR.
General Summary:
This position works under the direction of the Educational Services Director in assuring all educational needs of the school are completed accurately and timely, including but not limited to report cards, student schedules, due process completion and conferences, and completion of all the end of the quarter tasks. This is a safety sensitive position.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates ability to develop developmentally appropriate lesson plans as evidenced by supervisory review of written lesson plans and observed teaching practices.
- Develops, updates and implements grade appropriate curricula.
- Provides daily instruction according to assessed levels of performance.
- Monitors daily functioning of assigned students in the school.
- Assigns quarter and semester grades.
- Displays use of Trauma informed Care and the Restorative Approach when teaching and communicating with the students.
- Completes IEPs, goals, and objectives within time frames for annual reviews per IDEA requirements.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Education and/or Experience:
Must possess a valid Arkansas Teaching License with a certification in Special Education, according to the time frame and course work as required by the State Department of Education. If not fully certified, an ALP must be filed and completed within three years. Failure to fulfill these requirements will result in immediate termination.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Strong written and verbal skills; ability to read, analyze and interpret professional journals, technical procedures and government regulations

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, patients, licensed associates and the general public

Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Team members are required to sit, stand, talk, see, walk and reach with hands and arms. Must maintain a current tuberculosis skin test. While performing the duties of this job, the team member is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. Must be able to contain and restrain patients.
