Summer Rental Technician

Position Summary The Rental Technician fits and rents mountain bikes, helmets, knee, elbow, and chest protectors, and does basic repairs and adjustments on mountain bike equipment while providing excellent guest service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

• Inspecting and maintaining rental bikes to ensure they are safe and ready to use.
• Performing maintenance on bikes to meet our service standards and accurately recording information.
• Assisting customers with bike selections based on their needs and abilities.
• Responsible for renting bikes out and checking them in using the inventory computer system.
• Maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
• Portrays a positive company image and engage in professional and friendly communications with customers and coworkers.
• Actively listening to customer needs and inquiries to determine appropriate service actions.
• Establishing and maintaining customer profiles and preparing claim forms.
• Maintain inventory and inform the supervisor of stocking needs.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

• Experience in the bike industry preferred.
• Knowledge of cross-country, downhill bikes, and other related equipment is preferred.
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Prior experience with the general public (customers) a plus; prior experience as a cashier a plus.
• Excellent oral/written communication skills.
• Basic Math
• Excellent organizational skills
• Ability to multi-task
• Ability to work in a team environment and take direction from management and supervisors.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals, work instructions, and software manuals; ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
