Part Time Bilingual Medical Office Receptionist
To work in an Article 31 Outpatient Mental Health Clinic. Bilingual English/Spanish a must.
Responsibilities:
- Welcomes patients and visitors in person or on the telephone, answering inquiries or referring as needed.
- Serves clients by scheduling appointments, maintaining records and accounts.
- Optimizes client’ satisfaction, provider time, and treatment room utilization by scheduling appointments in person or by telephone.
- Keeps client appointments on schedule by notifying provider of patient’s arrival, reviewing service delivery compared to schedule, and reminding providers of service delays.
- Comforts clients by maintaining the reception area, ensuring a welcoming and calming environment.
- Ensures availability of treatment information by filing and retrieving records.
- Maintains patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information.
- Obtains revenue by recording and updating financial information, recording and collecting client charges, controlling credit extended to clients, and filing, collecting, and expediting third-party claims.
- Maintains business office inventory and equipment by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed supplies, placing and expediting orders for supplies, verifying receipt of supplies, and scheduling equipment service and repairs.
- Protects clients’ rights by maintaining confidentiality of medical, personal, and financial information.
- Maintains operations by following policies and procedures, reporting needed changes.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Qualifications / Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Bilingual English/Spanish a must.
- Excellent communication skills in person and by phone with clients, clinicians and co-workers.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Self-starter, excellent time management.
- Well organized and detail-oriented.
- Proficient in computer software such as Word, Excel, Adobe, Teams, Zoom and EHR Clinical software.
- Maintains professionalism at all times.
- Sensitivity towards persons who are diagnosed with severe and persistent mental illness.
Hours: 15-20 hours per week in afternoons, early evenings, some Saturdays
Salary: $18 - $22/hr, depending on experience
