WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Obtains copies of court dockets and notifies staff and attorneys of any hearings or motions relating to cases.
  • Meets with program management to discuss scheduled or requested hearings regarding active cases.
  • Promotes positive relationships, cooperation and high regard among all case stakeholders and clients.
  • Provides formal and informal training to staff and clients regarding court processes and appropriate behavior.
  • Tracks dates for review hearings and in collaboration with the program staff confirms these are on the court schedule and that all involved parties are informed.
  • Identifies any communications or procedural problems between staff and the legal systems and works with stakeholders to resolve them.
  • Staff cases with supervisor/team/providers/DCF/attorney as needed.
  • Prepare summary reports for program management and/or other parties regarding the status of scheduled legal conferences or hearings and case outcomes before the court.
  • Prepare for and attend court hearings as assigned.
  • Assist with psychotropic orders/requests, putative father requests, diligent search affidavits, out of town inquiries (OTI), interstate compact on the placement of children (ICPC) matters, and lead staffing’s ordered by the court.
  • Participate in the quality of management process.

Requirements

WHAT YOU NEED:


Education & Experience:   

Bachelor's degree in human services, legal services, business administration, child development or related field. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in foster care and adoptions or early childhood environment. Minimum of 1 year experience with dependency proceedings, preparation of reports for the courts, court testimony, and child welfare or child protective services OR MSW/MA in human services preferred. Valid and active Florida Child Welfare Case Management Certification.


Physical Requirements:  Ability to travel regionally on a regular basis and statewide as needed. Ability to bend, lift, and carry 30 pounds.
