Start asap with a probationary period of 60 days. You will begin as Pet Care Specialist and train into Lead. If you are a good fit, the position could become permanent.
Schedule: Full-time or part-time; may include evenings and every other weekend, and holiday.
General Summary:
The Daycare Specialist is responsible for supervising and engaging dogs in daycare playgroups, ensuring a safe, enriching, and stress-free environment. This role involves monitoring dog behavior, facilitating play, maintaining cleanliness, feeding, providing medications and otherwise supporting the physical and emotional well-being of all pets.

Key Responsibilities
Check dogs in and out of Daycare, communicating any client instructions at car side to the appropriate Lead
Conduct daycare playgroups, ensuring dogs are safe by recognizing play styles, keeping arousal levels med to low, and preventing conflicts and stress.
Use obedience cues safely and effectively to distract from behaviors such as humping, resource guarding, bullying, and packing up
Conduct off-leash play assessments for new dogs and perform Snout to Tail exams to monitor dogs’ physical condition daily.
Feed and medicate dogs according to schedules and protocols, recording meals accurately and reporting missed meals.
Practice and reinforce proper cleaning and sanitation standards for dog daycare and cat boarding areas.
Follow staff safety procedures and facility emergency guidelines.
Communicate with Leads, Managers, and other staff about health, safety, and pet/client updates.
Participate in ongoing training and education (Fear Free, IBPSA, safety modules).
Qualifications
High school diploma required.
Physically able to lift and carry 40 lbs., stamina for active, hands-on work.
Commitment to professional growth and ongoing training
Ability to recognize and alleviate Fear, Anxiety, and Stress in animals.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
Standing, walking, bending, and performing manual dexterity tasks throughout shifts.
Operating personal computers, telephones, calculators, and 2 way radios
Lifting and carrying objects over 40 lbs as needed.
Working in a noisy, fast-paced environment with frequent task switching and client interactions.

- Attitude: “Yes, If" not "I Can't". Must be invested in making pets better--period.
- Two positive past employer references and must pass a background check.
Physically able to lift and carry 40 lbs., stamina for active, hands-on work.
- Ability to use a computer, two way radio and cleaning tools effectively
- Knowledge of standard US measures for feeding.
Commitment to professional growth and ongoing training
Ability to recognize and alleviate Fear, Anxiety, and Stress in animals.
- Experience in dog handling, daycare, boarding, or related animal fields preferred.
