Responsibilities
- Safely handle and restrain dogs during feeding, cleaning, grooming using proper animal handling techniques
- Monitor pet behavior to ensure safety and address any signs of distress or discomfort promptly
- Maintain cleanliness of kennels, play areas, and common spaces to uphold hygiene standards
- Assist with pet grooming tasks such as bathing, brushing, and nail trimming to keep animals comfortable and well-groomed
- Support staff with basic animal care duties including administering medications or treatments as directed
- Engage pets in enrichment activities and supervised play to promote mental stimulation and physical activity
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners about their pets’ needs
Skills
- Strong animal handling skills with the ability to safely restrain dogs of various sizes and temperaments
- Experience with dog training techniques to assist in behavioral management when needed
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when moving supplies or assisting with large animals
- Pet grooming skills including bathing, brushing, and basic grooming tasks
- Excellent customer service skills to interact professionally with pet owners and visitors
- Animal care expertise including pet sitting, pet care routines, and general animal health awareness
