Duties
- Engage with clients to assess their landscaping needs and preferences, providing expert guidance on design options, materials, and maintenance plans
- Prepare detailed project proposals, including sketches, estimates, and timelines using tools like SketchUp, AutoCAD, Revit, and Civil 3D
- Collaborate with the design team to develop sustainable landscape solutions incorporating horticulture principles, irrigation systems, hardscape features, and land surveying data
- Present project ideas confidently to clients while demonstrating knowledge of GIS (Geographic Information Systems), ArcGIS, Land surveying techniques, and civil engineering concepts
- Coordinate with construction teams to ensure project specifications are met accurately and efficiently while managing project timelines and budgets
- Assist in conducting site visits for landscape maintenance assessments and project progress reviews
- Stay informed about the latest industry trends in landscaping technology, sustainable design practices, and construction estimating to provide innovative solutions
Requirements
- Proven experience or strong interest in landscaping, horticulture, or civil engineering fields with familiarity in CAD drafting and 3D modeling software such as Rhinoceros 3D or MicroStation
- Proficiency in design software including SketchUp, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator & InDesign), Civil 3D, Revit, and AutoCAD is highly desirable
- Knowledge of GIS platforms like ArcView or ArcGIS for land analysis and planning purposes
- Understanding of construction processes related to hardscape installation, irrigation systems, land surveying techniques, and landscape maintenance practices
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and quality standards
- Strong communication skills to effectively present ideas and collaborate with clients and team members
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; willingness to travel between job sites as needed
- A passion for sustainable design principles combined with project management skills will set candidates apart
