Independent Contractor
Your Next Right Step Therapy is a private practice group that employs highly skilled, trained and educated Independent Contractors to provide excellent therapy services to the following populations: individuals, couples, families, groups and services to all ages and diverse backgrounds. Independent contractors, being independent in nature, may work within their expertise and within the populations they prefer and have the background in which to do so. Candidates will need an active professional clinical Kansas license (LSCSW, LCPC, LCMFT). Ideal candidates will enjoy a friendly and professional team environment that encourages collaboration. Please note that most of our business is insurance based and the timeline for starting to build a caseload is generally 2-3 months after hire due to the credentialing process.
Role and Responsibilities
1. Diagnosing and treating mental health disorders
2. Creating individualized treatment plans
3. Regularly meeting with patients to provide counseling and treatment
4. Assessing patient progress
5. Involving and advising family members when appropriate
6. Referring patients to outside specialists or agencies when necessary
7. Maintaining thorough records of patient meetings and progress
8. Following all safety protocols and maintaining client confidentiality
9. Establishing positive, trusting rapport with patients
10. Implementing various treatments and protocols to provide guidance and appropriately address client situations
11. Attending meetings and team events
12. Maintain an independent practice while being professional and flexible within the larger team environment
13. Collaborate professionally amongst peers maintain healthy professional boundaries in the work environment
14. Must agree to an average minimum of hours 32 per month within 5 months of contract signing (to allow time to get credentialed and build caseload)
Qualification and Education Requirements
- Master’s degree in social work, counseling or related field
- Hold a Kansas clinical license in a professional field
Preferred Skills/ Background
- Strong skills working with people with all types of mental health needs and addictions a plus but not required
- Work with the following populations is a plus: veterans, children, families, couples, older adults
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $70.00 - $130.00 per hour
