Assistant Food & Beverage Manager

You will be assisting in leading all food and beverage operations to deliver exceptional guest experiences by providing courteous, professional, efficient service, and therefore ensuring customer and associate satisfaction. To embrace the values of the Company Culture and Guiding Principles.


Responsibilities:


Guest Experience & Service Excellence

  • Deliver a consistently high level of service that exceeds guest expectations across all food and beverage outlets
  • Actively drive Guest Satisfaction Scores (GSS) by engaging with guests, resolving concerns promptly, and ensuring service recovery standards are met 
  • Meet or exceed hotel-established GSS goals through training, accountability, and hands-on leadership
  • Practice the 10/5 Rule and model hospitality behaviors for all team members
  • Personally interact with guests to solicit feedback and create a welcoming, hospitable environment
  • Ensure all guest concerns are resolved professionally, empowered to make service recovery decisions

Financial Performance & Revenue Management

  • Achieve or exceed budgeted revenue goals for all food and beverage outlets 
  • Actively promote outlets, menus, and beverage programs to maximize revenue
  • Monitor daily sales, trends, and forecasts to adjust staffing, promotions, and service strategies
  • Ensure beverage cost percentages are maintained within established company goals through:
    • Accurate ordering and inventory controls
    • Portion control and recipe compliance
    • Waste and theft prevention
  • Manage payroll and labor costs in line with budgeted targets and revenue forecasts 
  • Ensure proper cash handling procedures, POS accuracy, and loss prevention controls are consistently followed


Safe Bar Service & Compliance

  • Ensure responsible alcohol service in accordance with TIPS, local laws, and company policies
  • Train and enforce procedures for identifying intoxicated guests and refusing service when necessary 
  • Maintain a safe, secure, and compliant bar environment for guests and team members 
  • Ensure all beverage operations comply with sanitation, health, and liquor regulations
     

Operational Management

  • Direct and supervise daily food and beverage operations
  • Ensure service execution is prompt, professional, and consistent 
  • Maintain open communication with culinary leadership regarding service flow, special requests, and counts
  • Inspect food and beverage quality prior to service
  • Ensure side work, opening/closing duties, inventories, and daily checklists are completed
  • Plan and conduct pre-shift meetings to communicate expectations, goals, and promotions
  • Schedule staff effectively based on business volume, forecasts, and events
     

Requirements:


  • Minimum of 3–5 years of Food & Beverage management experience (hotel preferred)
  • Proven success in driving GSS and financial performance
  • Strong leadership, training, and coaching abilities
  • Solid understanding of beverage operations, cost controls, and inventory management
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills
  • Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • TIPS and food safety certifications (or ability to obtain)
     

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to bend, lift, kneel, and be in motion for the full day. 

  • Must be able to move continuously during work hours and able to lift and/or carry 50 pounds.
