Personal Care Assistant (PCA) / Caregiver

Your Choice Home Health Care is seeking compassionate, dependable, and caring Personal Care Assistants to support elderly individuals and people with disabilities in the comfort of their own homes. In this rewarding role, you will help clients maintain their independence, dignity, safety, and quality of life by providing assistance with daily activities and personal care.

Previous caregiving experience is preferred but not required. We are willing to train the right candidate who has a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and a genuine desire to help others. The ideal candidate is patient, respectful, responsible, and able to build trusting relationships with clients while providing attentive, personalized care.

Key Responsibilities

• Personal Care: Assist clients with bathing, grooming, hygiene, dressing, and undressing while respecting their privacy and dignity.
• Toileting Assistance: Provide respectful assistance with toileting and other personal care needs.
• Mobility and Transfers: Help clients move safely, including assistance with transferring, repositioning, and other mobility-related activities as appropriate.
• Meal Preparation: Prepare healthy, nutritious meals and snacks based on clients’ needs and preferences.
• Medication Reminders: Remind clients to take medications according to their established care plans.
• Light Housekeeping: Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable home environment by performing light household tasks.
• Laundry: Assist with washing, drying, folding, and putting away clothing and linens.
• Grocery Shopping and Errands: Help clients obtain groceries and essential household items.
• Transportation: Assist with transportation to appointments, errands, and other approved activities, as required.
• Companionship and Support: Provide friendly conversation, encouragement, and compassionate assistance to promote clients’ emotional well-being and independence.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Previous experience in caregiving, personal care, or home health is preferred but not required.
• Willingness to learn and follow training, care plans, and established procedures.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and communicate effectively with clients and team members.
• Patient, compassionate, dependable, and respectful of individuals with different needs and abilities.
• Ability to work independently while following instructions and maintaining professional boundaries.
• Comfortable assisting with personal care, mobility, and daily living activities.
• Ability to perform the physical duties of the position, including standing, bending, squatting, and lifting up to 50 pounds, as required.
• Ability to assist with client transfers using appropriate training and safety procedures.
