Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide therapeutic support to individuals and families, utilizing various counseling techniques to promote mental health and well-being. This role requires a strong understanding of diverse counseling methodologies and the ability to work with a wide range of clients, including children, families, and individuals with developmental disabilities.
Duties
- Conduct individual and group counseling sessions, focusing on mental health issues, addiction, grief, and trauma.
- Utilize evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Psychodynamic Therapy.
- Perform intake assessments and diagnostic evaluations to determine client needs.
- Develop personalized treatment plans in collaboration with clients and their families.
- Provide crisis intervention and management for clients in distress.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Engage in clinical research and data collection to enhance therapeutic practices.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care strategies.
- Offer support for patients dealing with PTSD, chronic pain, or behavioral challenges.
- Facilitate art therapy or dance therapy sessions as part of holistic treatment approaches.
Skills
- Proficiency in Psychotherapy techniques including individual/group counseling.
- Experience with Child & Family Counseling and working with children.
- Knowledge of ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding for accurate medical records management.
- Familiarity with Telehealth platforms for remote counseling services.
- Background in Crisis Intervention and Crisis Management strategies.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, or other special needs.
- Strong skills in Patient Assessment, Case Management, and Behavioral Therapy methods.
- Understanding of Medical Terminology and documentation practices within a clinical setting.
- Experience in Geriatrics or Pediatrics is a plus.
