Duties
- Safely operate delivery vehicles such as box trucks, vans, or personal vehicles to transport goods to customer locations and warehouse sites
- Load and unload products using manual handling techniques, pallet jacks, or material handling equipment while adhering to safe lifting practices
- Plan and follow efficient delivery routes, complying with all traffic regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) requirements
- Verify delivery orders, complete necessary documentation, and obtain customer signatures upon receipt of goods
- Assist with warehouse operations including inventory management, stock replenishment, and moving items within the facility
- Use mobile devices or handheld scanners to track deliveries, update logs, and communicate with team members
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring safety protocols are followed during all manual handling activities
Skills
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or warehouse worker with knowledge of route driving and delivery procedures
- Familiarity with commercial driving, including operating box trucks, vans, or trucks with manual transmissions
- Strong understanding of safe lifting practices, heavy lifting techniques, and weight handling in the workplace
- Ability to adhere strictly to traffic laws, DOT regulations, and safety standards during driving and loading activities
- Excellent customer service skills to ensure positive interactions during deliveries
- Experience operating material handling equipment such as pallet jacks or moving carts is preferred
- Comfortable using mobile devices for route navigation, delivery tracking, and communication purposes
