CAD Drafter
Reports To: Engineering and Quality Manager
FLSA: Nonexempt
Role: Non- Management
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Create accurate 3D models from customer-provided 2D drawings in SolidWorks Design software
- Create in-process part configurations that represent partially machined components for each machining operation
- Create simplified part drawings from both final and in-process part configurations for manufacturing and inspection use
- Create 3D models of various lathe and mill tooling components from engineering-provided rough sketches
- Design and create 3D models for simple tooling requests and 3D printed components
- Participate in manufacturing process discussions and incorporate toolpath information into manufacturing drawings
- Process engineering change requests by updating 3D models and drawings as required
- Maintain revision control of 3D models and drawings
- Balance a dynamic workload with overtime as needed to complete assignments on schedule
- Follow and participate in the development of engineering standards and procedures
- Learn and adapt quickly to assigned project tasks, proceeding independently to initiate those tasks and manage multiple responsibilities
- Responsible for the quality of work produced and following the methods of continuous improvement
Experience:
- Experience with CAD Required
- Basic machining (lathe and mill) knowledge preferred
