Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail orientated Production Development – Pattern and Spec Maker to join our domestic manufacturing team. This role plays a critical part in transforming design concepts into production ready patterns and specifications that ensure quality and efficiency. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with inside upholstery, trim work, and pattern creation, proficiency in all three is highly preferred and will be a key asset in the role. The candidate will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative, high quality, and marker ready upholstery products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with design teams to interpret design concepts and bring them to life.
- Partner with production teams to ensure upholstery and trim processes are optimized for manufacturing.
- Provie hands-on technical support and resolve construction challenges as needed.
- Participate in the creation of new prototypes, evaluating fit, comfort, and visual appeal.
- Offer suggestions and make adjustments based on testing results and feedback.
- Identify ways to improve upholstery, trim, and development workflows for greater efficiency.
- Stay informed about industry trends and evolving tools and techniques.
- Develop accurate patterns for new upholstery designs by hand.
- Create detailed product specifications including dimensions, materials, and construction details.
- Maintain organized documentation of all patterns and specifications.
- Modify patterns and specs to enhance quality and production efficiency.
Candidates that would be a great fit:
- Must be able to preform inside upholstery, trim work, and pattern making, proficiency in all three areas is a strong plus.
- Prior experience in upholstery pattern making or a similar role in the furniture industry, preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of upholstery construction and materials.
- Proficiency with hand tools used in pattern creation; CAD experience is a plus
- Ability to interpret technical drawing and bring them to life.
- High attention to detail and craftsmanship
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
- Collaborative and effective communicator.
- Ability to lift materials and patterns up to 75 lbs.
- Must be able to stand, bend, and work with tools for extended periods in a production environment.
Shift: Monday to Thursday 7am – 4:30pm & Friday 7a-11a
Pay: Depends on experience
