Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Welder/Fitter to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in various welding techniques and fabrication processes, with the ability to read blueprints and schematics. This role involves working in a construction or manufacturing environment, where precision and attention to detail are paramount. The Welder/Fitter will be responsible for assembling and fabricating metal structures and components, ensuring compliance with ASME codes and standards.
Duties
- Perform MIG, TIG, and FCAW welding on various materials including sheet metal and ductwork.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and machinery such as press brake machines for fabrication tasks.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine project specifications.
- Conduct pipe threading and assembly of metal components according to design requirements.
- Operate cranes and forklifts safely to move materials around the worksite.
- Execute rigging tasks for heavy components during assembly processes.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols.
- Conduct quality checks using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools to ensure precision in work.
- Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.
Requirements
- Proven experience in welding and fitting within a construction or manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in MIG welding, TIG welding, FCAW, and basic math skills for measurements.
- Familiarity with mechanical knowledge related to fabrication processes and equipment operation.
- Experience with plasma cutting, soldering, machining, and assembly tasks is preferred.
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics accurately.
- Strong understanding of ASME codes & standards relevant to welding practices.
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, cranes, forklifts, and other machinery safely.
- Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship.
