What are the responsibilities and job description for the After School Art Teacher position at Young Rembrandts and Careers?
If your afternoons are free, Young Rembrandts is looking for fun, engaging, and responsible people to teach our after school drawing classes throughout Boise, Meridian and the surrounding area. DO NOT APPLY if you are looking for a full–time position – this position is only for someone interested in very part–time work, about 3 hours per week.
Our classes run at a school once a week Monday through Thursday.
If, after we meet and decide that this is a good fit for us both, you will be assigned to 2 (or possibly 3) different schools (teaching on different days of the week). This position runs until mid-May but there are some summer opportunities available.
Your class
- is one day a week, same time - same day/time every week
- is in the later afternoons, immediately AFTER the school lets out (from 3:30 to 4:00)
- has the same students for 8 week sessions
You just need about 2 hours in the afternoon on the days you teach - you can schedule other employment for the mornings/early afternoon on those days. You don’t need to be an artist, but it helps ...most important is that you do have some experience working with elementary age students.
Please provide a resume that clearly shows you've worked with kids before.
We provide training and ongoing support so that you feel comfortable/confident teaching our classes as well as lessons, art supplies, everything you need to teach the class. We look for people who want to provide a great learning experience for the elementary students in their classes.
Please list some days/times that you are available to meet to discuss the position in more detail.
(Pay rate is based on 1 hour class plus 30 minutes of prep & clean-up)
