POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Youth Development Director, the Site Supervisor will organize, and lead a comprehensive enrichment program for children who attend before and after school programs. The Site Director will provide day-to-day direction and supervision of assigned program locations and staff, ensuring that all programs operate in a quality manner consistent with the Y mission, cause, and values.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Plans, coordinates, organizes and leads all daily after school program activities.

2. Observes and follows the School Age Child Care program guidelines

3. Complies with all Association and branch specific policies and procedures.

4. Assists with recruitment, hiring and development of program staff; provides leadership to staff, ensures adequate coverage for all activities.

5. Performs general housekeeping tasks and ensures that site and program areas are clean and well organized.

6. Provides a safe, healthy, moral, and fun environment for all children.

7. Fosters an environment, which includes the five YMCA character development values of respect, responsibility, caring, honesty, and faith.

8. Maintains all records, paperwork, and required reporting, including timesheets, lesson plans, incident reports, etc.

9. Maintains a positive, open relationship with all staff, parents, program participants, administration, support staff and the community. Models relationship-building skills in all interactions.

10. Identifies and resolves problems to ensure programs are meeting goals of the program, reports unresolved issues to the Youth Development Director.

11. Works additional hours as needed when there is a 1/2 day of school, school closing or vacation day.

12. Attends all staff meetings and training programs.

13. Follows all YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention and emergency procedures.

14. Attends staff meetings and trainings.

15. Maintains positive relations with parents and other staff. Models relationship-building skills (including Listen First) in all interactions.

16. Perfom other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. High school graduate or equivalent; one year or more of college preferred.
  2. Two to three years childcare or related experience and relevant experience in supervision and administration of youth programs preferred.
  3. Demonstrated leadership qualities, project management, time management, organizational skills and detail oriented.
  4. Minimum age of 18.
  5. CPR, First Aid, AED, Oxygen training within 60 days of hire.
  6. Bloodborne Pathogens, Sexual Harassment and Child Abuse Prevention training before start of 1st shift.
  7. Previous experience with diverse populations preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Ability to frequently stand, sit, walk, talk, hear, type, run, jump, kick, catch, throw, climb, kneel, bend, reach, balance, crouch or crawl, climb and/or balance, reach with hands and arms, handle or feel, stoop, lift/move and carry approximately 35 lbs, and use hands and fingers. Must be able to lift and/or maneuver large gym equipment. Special vision abilities required distance, peripheral, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Salary : $13 - $14
