What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bus Driver position at YOUNG MENS CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION OF?
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Bus Driver is responsible for the safe transport of program participants for the YMCA.
In addition, every position in the YMCA of Coastal Georgia, Inc. is responsible for upholding the Judeo-Christian principles that are central to our mission by modeling behaviors that exemplify the four pillars of character - caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Daily inspection and recording of bus/van maintenance log
- Daily recording of mileage
- Reporting all vehicle safety concerns to supervisor
- Keeping up to date and accurate records
- Ensuring the safety of all program participants during transport
- Assist in the overall retention and satisfaction of YMCA members through appropriate customer service
- Assist in the Annual Campaign fundraising program for the YMCA
- Maintain a positive and cheerful attitude with staff, peers, and program participants
- Must be qualified to drive manual and long-nosed busses
- All additional duties as assigned

Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS:
- Meet current DOT Physical Standards.
- Valid and current CDL.
- Ability to foster positive staff, parent, and child relations.
- Clear record with no evidence of violations in the last 36 months.
- CPR and First Aid required within 30 days of employment.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check and obtain authorization to work with children under the Georgia Department of Labor and YMCA guidelines.
