AVAILABLE SHIFTS:
4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Monday - Friday
6:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. Saturday
1:00 - 5:00 p.m. Sunday
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position supports the work of the Toyota Indiana YMCA, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening the community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Under the guidance of the Branch Leadership Staff, the health & wellness staff is responsible for working with members in a courteous and motivating manner.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Adhere to policies related to boundaries with youth.
- Complete required abuse risk management training.
- Report suspicious or inappropriate behaviors and policy violations.
- Follow mandated abuse reporting requirements.
- Adhere to job-specific abuse risk management responsibilities.
- Ensure check-in procedures are followed.
- Creates a safe environment in which all individuals feel welcomed and respected; builds relationships with and among members and program participants.
- Communicates appropriately with individuals based on readiness to change; coaches them in support of their desired behavior change and regularly checks on members’ progress in meeting personal and program goals.
- Shares wellness program information with members, using available tools and resources (e.g., handouts, schedules).
- Asks and answers questions (e.g., post-enrollment interview) and displays empathy in support of helping members and program participants define and build confidence to achieve their health and wellness goals based on their personal goals, cultural background, healthcare needs, diverse abilities and interests; develops plans to meet their individual needs.
- Identifies and celebrates the successes of members and program participants.
- Maintains working knowledge of wellness and trends to provide effective information and support to members.
- Maintains and cleans equipment according to the schedule or as requested by the supervisor.
- Follows YMCA policies and procedures; responds to emergency situations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- CPR/AED, First Aid, Oxygen, and Blood Borne Pathogen training is required within 60 days of employment.
- Child Abuse Prevention training is required on/before the first day of work.
