After School Program Site Coordinator, Grant (Mid City/Mid Wilshire)

YOUNG MENS CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION OF METROPOLITAN LOS ANGELES
Los Angeles, CA Part Time
POSTED ON 7/11/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 9/11/2026

Position Summary

Every afternoon, families trust the YMCA to provide a place where their children can continue learning, build friendships, and discover new interests after the final school bell rings. As the Site Coordinator, Beyond the Bell Grant, you'll lead the team that makes those experiences possible. In this leadership role, you'll coordinate a high quality, grant funded after school program serving students on an LAUSD campus, creating a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment where every child feels a sense of belonging. You'll support and coach Team Members, build strong partnerships with school staff and families, and lead engaging club-based experiences that help students build confidence, develop new skills, and thrive beyond the classroom. If you're passionate about leading people, developing future leaders, and creating meaningful experiences for children and families, this is an opportunity to make a lasting impact every school day.

How You'll Make an Impact

  • Lead a high quality, grant funded after school program where children feel safe, supported, and inspired to learn every day.
  • Coach, mentor, and support a team of YMCA Team Members to deliver engaging club-based experiences and enrichment opportunities.
  • Build strong relationships with school administrators, teachers, families, and community partners to strengthen the program and support student success.
  • Create purposeful experiences that promote academic achievement, leadership, belonging, and positive youth development.
  • Help ensure the program operates safely, efficiently, and in alignment with YMCA and grant requirements while fostering a positive culture for children and staff.

Schedule

This is a part-time, grant funded, seasonal position that follows the school calendar. Site Coordinators typically work Monday through Friday from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., approximately 25 hours per week, leading after school programming on school days. Paid morning, evening, and weekend trainings, professional development, family events, and special events are required throughout the year. Additional opportunities for work may be available during school intersessions and breaks, including summer day camp and other YMCA youth programs.

Who We're Looking For

This role is a great fit for someone who enjoys leading others, building authentic relationships, and creating environments where children and families feel welcomed, supported, and connected. The ideal candidate is organized, collaborative, and passionate about youth development. You'll thrive in this role if you enjoy mentoring Team Members, partnering with schools, and helping children discover their potential through engaging after school experiences.
