LIFEGUARD CERTIFICATION: The YMCA will assist those who are not certified with obtaining their Red Cross Certification.
JOB LOCATION: Wellmark YMCA in downtown Des Moines, IA
SCHEDULE: 5:00am-1:30pm Monday-Friday
SALARY: $17.00 - $19.00 / hour

POSITION SUMMARY: This position is responsible for supervising the activities of the members/guests in the aquatic department and to ensure their safety.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Enforce rules and procedures.
- Keep the pool and pool deck free of obstructions and safety hazards.
- Maintain constant surveillance of the water and pool deck areas.
- Handle equipment as assigned to ensure safety.
- Record chemical readings.
- Know emergency procedures and is able to demonstrate them.
- Maintain emergency equipment.
- Respond to all emergencies.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor or designated staff person.
- Demonstrate and support the objectives of the Association as embodied in the mission statement and values.
Salary : $17 - $19
