What are the responsibilities and job description for the Middle School After School Leader - Multiple Locations position at YOUNG MEN'S CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION OF WICHITA KANSAS?
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for building effective, authentic relationships with children, parents, volunteers and staff; greeting and becoming familiar with youth by name.
- Communicating on a daily basis with Site Coordinator regarding programming and expectations.
- Assisting with the recruitment, planning, supervision and management of students and daily activities.
- Interacting, supervising and leading program participants in accordance with YMCA guidelines at all times in all areas of the building and activities.
- Supervising youth while riding the bus during transport; enforcing bus rules.
- Beginning and ending program on time; remaining after program to answer participant or parent questions as needed.
- Conveying information on outreach programs and schedules and as appropriate.
- Administering student and parent surveys.
- Completing daily cleaning duties and additional as deemed necessary.
- Setting up and cleaning-up program area. Reporting any facility or equipment irregularities, unsafe conditions or feedback to supervisor in writing.
- Responsible for the safety and well-being of participants; reporting disciplinary problems to the Site Coordinator.
- Following and enforcing all YMCA policies, rules, regulations and procedures, including illness, emergency, and safety procedures.
- Responsible for being knowledgeable and prepared to implement emergency procedures.
- Reporting all incidents/accidents on the appropriate form providing to supervisor within 24 hours pf event.
- Submitting completed records on time (i.e. daily attendance, surveys).
- Attending all required training sessions and scheduled meetings.
- Maintaining prompt hours and following established procedures for absences.
- Supporting Strong Community Campaign fundraising.
- All other duties as assigned.
EFFECT ON END RESULT:Compliance with Middle School After School Program Leader responsibilities will ensure a safe, supervised, quality program driven by needs and input of participants. Growth in program participation is expected.
