Senior Accountant - Treasure Valley Family YMCA Association

The Treasure Valley Family YMCA is seeking a Senior Accountant to join the team. This position is responsible for supporting the organization's accounting and financial reporting functions, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records, and maintaining compliance with accounting policies and procedures. This position plays a key role in the month-end close process, financial statement preparation, fixed asset accounting, and financial systems support. The Senior Accountant partners with cross-functional teams to provide timely financial information, improve processes, and support the organization's operational and strategic goals.

Responsibilities:

General Accounting & Month-End Close

• Lead and execute month-end and year-end close activities to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Prepare, review, and post journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, allocations, and other recurring and non-recurring transactions.

Financial Reporting & Analysis

• Prepare monthly and annual financial statements and related supporting documentation.
• Develop and distribute internal management reports, financial dashboards, and variance analyses.
• Analyze financial results and provide insights to leadership regarding trends, risks, and opportunities.

Fixed Assets & Depreciation

• Manage the fixed asset accounting process, including asset additions, transfers, disposals, and retirements.
• Maintain the fixed asset subledger and ensure accurate capitalization of expenditures.

Accounts Receivable & Accounts Payable Support

•  Support Accounts Receivable processes, including customer billing, cash applications, collections reporting, and account reconciliations.
• Support Accounts Payable processes, including invoice review, payment processing, vendor account reconciliations, and expense coding.

Financial Systems Administration & Support

• Serve as a key resource for financial systems and ERP applications.
• Assist with system maintenance, testing, upgrades, implementations, and process improvements.
• Troubleshoot system issues and partner with internal stakeholders and external vendors to resolve problems.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• CPA preferred.
• 5 years of progressive accounting experience required.
• Experience with month-end close, financial reporting, and general ledger accounting.
• Experience with ERP or financial management systems required.
• Experience with fixed asset accounting and depreciation preferred.
• Must have good interpersonal and communications skills and be sensitive, adaptable, professional, and articulate when dealing with others.
