Job Summary: We are seeking dedicated and skilled individuals to join our Transmission Counterpoise Crew. This team will travel across the state of Georgia to ensure the safe and proper installation of ground rods and copper wires for newly installed transmission towers. The crew will be responsible for testing the grounding system of each structure to maintain safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install 10’ ground rods and copper wires for transmission towers.
- Test the grounding system for each structure to ensure proper functionality and safety.
- Operate a mini excavator and other necessary equipment for installations.
- Lift and maneuver materials weighing up to 80 pounds.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and practices on the job site.
- Travel extensively across Georgia to various job sites as required.
- Work efficiently and effectively as part of a two-man team.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in working outdoors, with the ability to work in various weather conditions. Walking on uneven terrain.
- Fundamental understanding of electrical systems and grounding principles.
- Physical capability to lift and handle materials weighing up to 80 pounds.
- Proficiency in operating a mini excavator and other relevant machinery.
- Willingness to travel across the state and stay at job sites as needed.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with team members.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in transmission tower grounding or related electrical work.
- Certifications in electrical fundamentals or equipment operation.
- Familiarity with safety standards and practices in the electrical field.
- Distribution and or transmission line crew experience
- Completion of OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
- CPR trained
