Bread Slicing & Packaging Assistant

Young Kobras is a small, gluten-free sourdough bakery focused on healthy whole grains and artisanal baking. We’re a friendly, easygoing team that takes pride in quality and craftsmanship, and we’re looking for a dependable team member to assist with bread slicing and packaging.
Position Overview
This role focuses on slicing and packaging bread for customer orders and shipping. The work is repetitive and detail-oriented, and it’s essential that loaves are packaged neatly and meet our high quality standards.
You’ll often begin the day independently, opening the bakery and starting slicing and packaging before the rest of the team arrives.
Schedule
- Shift start: 5:00 AM, Monday–Thursday
- Shift may begin earlier for the right candidate
- Shift ends after 8 hours or once all bread is sliced and packaged
- Optional shorter shift (5:00–9:00 AM) available, though preference is for someone who can help complete all daily slicing
- Weekly hours: 20–30 hours (Monday - Thursday)
Responsibilities
- Slice and package bread for orders and shipping
- Troubleshoot uneven slicing and assemble visually appealing loaves
- Lift and move items weighing 50 pounds
- Clean, wash, and maintain the packaging area
- Work collaboratively with the production and fulfillment team
Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail and consistency
- Comfortable with repetitive tasks
- Good problem-solving skills
- Physically able to lift 50 pounds
- Team-oriented and reliable
Compensation
- Starting wage: $20/hour
- Annual raises and room for growth
