Position Overview:
The Senior Distribution Associate – Pharmaceutical supports the efficiency and accuracy of distribution operations by handling advanced distribution tasks, assisting with training, troubleshooting operations issues and ensuring compliance with pharmaceutical industry standards. They will also work to ensure the accurate and timely processing of pharmaceutical and medical supply orders. An ideal Senior Associate is punctual, detail-oriented, proactive and committed to continuous improvement with a strong sense of urgency in accomplishing goals.

Who you’ll work with:
- This role reports to the Operations Manager and works closely with the Distribution Lead and the rest of the distribution team.
What You’ll Do:
- Pick, pack and ship outbound customer orders, including troubleshooting of outbound customer orders
- Maintain a safe work environment and follow all safety guidelines including safe operation of hand trucks and other equipment as required.
- Utilize Tracelink serial tracking system for all required products and assist in troubleshooting
- Receive and process inbound shipments from vendors and /or returned orders.
- Use FedEx/UPS systems to process shipments and invoices of customer orders. Ensure compliance with Young Innovations Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and pharmaceutical industry requirements.
- Perform inventory reconciliation, cycle-counting, and replenishment of on-hand inventory, and participation in physical inventory counts as directed by management that adhere to state and federal regulations.
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse including sweeping, dusting, trash disposal, organization of materials and other duties as needed. Accurately check, receive and store incoming products as needed.
- Determine appropriate cold ship packaging by destination.
- Overtime may be required as the needs of the business dictate.
- Assist with QA functions as needed (i.e. RMAs/222 validations/C2 shipments)
- Support operational activities of other product lines or companies within Young Innovations, as necessary. Pick/pack/ship class 3-5 Controlled substances.
- Support reconciliation function for cycle counts. Act as a knowledge resource for other team members and assist in training.
- Accurately create batches of repack according to standards of pharmaceutical governing bodies.
- Accurately create and process-controlled documents such as master sample labels, master batch records, and repacked labels.
- Create and expedite transfers of repack products to other warehouse locations.
- Complete manufacturing preparation and production steps as needed. Influence positive change and set a good example for peers following warehouse best practices and in accordance with Young Innovations Core Values.
- Related duties:
- Adhere to any QRA or management directives or key initiatives.
- Manage and record all warehouse temperature and cleaning logs.
- Performs other duties, as assigned
- Support on-site inspections by Board of Pharmacy, DEA and FDA
What You’ll Bring:
- Training and Experience
- 2 years pick/pack/ship experience preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Medical Device and/or Pharmaceutical experience required.
- Knowledge, Abilities and Skills
- Knowledge of basic PC skills and ability to type at a reasonable pace.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to work under pressure and time contraints.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to train and lead others (may be developing)
- Demonstrated proficiency in verbal and written communication in English, with the ability to convey information clearly, accurately, and professionally across all levels of the organization.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Moderate physical activity is required (lifting up to 50 lbs., standing/walking for up to 8 hours). Frequent twisting, bending, climbing, lifting and manual dexterity required. Work performed primarily in a temperature controlled warehouse/manufacturing facility. Less than 5% of time spent outdoors receiving shipments, transferring shipments to trucks or disposing of garbage.
No travel required.
Compensation Range: $20.00 - $22.00/hr
The pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target for the position at the time of posting. Within the range, the compensation will be determined based on education/training, skill set, experience, and other organizational needs.
Physical Requirements/Working Locations
Manufacturing/Distribution Environment
This position operates in a manufacturing plant environment. The role routinely involves working around machinery, equipment, and moving mechanical parts. The facility may be subject to varying temperatures, loud noise levels, and airborne particles such as dust or chemical fumes, depending on the area of the plant. This role may require periods of standing, sitting, or walking throughout the workday. Occasional bending, lifting, or carrying items up to 50 pounds may be necessary.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, control, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk. Hearing abilities required for this environment include being able to clearly hear and respond to audible alarms, production equipment, forklifts, and other machinery to maintain a safe work environment. Individuals must be able to distinguish and understand verbal communication including instructions, safety warnings, and team discussions, sometimes in an environment with moderate to high background noise.
