Household Assistant - Part Time, Madison WI (2-3 days/week)
We are a busy professional family with two young kids (ages 1 and 5) and two dogs, Phoebe and Pheston, looking for a proactive, self-directed household assistant to own the operational running of our home. This is not a role for someone who waits to be told what to do. We need someone who takes initiative, anticipates needs, and makes our family’s daily life seamless so we can focus on work and time with our kids. We are an organized family that communicates clearly and will set you up to succeed.
What you’ll own:
- Grocery shopping, including building the weekly list and checking in with us on preferences to keep the kitchen stocked
- Cooking dinner 3x per week from a pre-agreed family menu of options we love
- Packing school lunches
- Ad hoc household errands, dry cleaning, returns, supply runs, pet grooming appointments and drop-offs, and similar tasks
- Scheduling and coordinating family and household appointments
- Light after-school coverage for our 5 year old, 1-2 hours, 2-3 days per week
- Any recurring household logistics that keep things running smoothly
- What we’re looking for:
- Someone who spots what needs doing and does it without being asked
- Comfortable working independently with minimal daily direction
- Comfortable around dogs
- Reliable, discreet, and professional
- Experience in a household assistant, personal assistant, or similar role preferred
- Must be comfortable cooking simple, healthy weeknight meals
- Valid driver’s license and own transportation required
