What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pre-K Teacher position at Young Expression Daycare, LLC.?
Job Duties:
· Plan engaging activity schedules that encourage curiosity and development through our Frog Street Press Curriculum.
· Attend to the personal cleanliness of each child as well as the cleanliness and organization of the classroom environment, ensuring the safety and storage of equipment. (*Diaper changing may be required for some students)
· Actively play and engage with children, fostering positive relationships. Log daily activities electronically and communicate with parents electronically using the Brightwheel App.
· Contribute to the creation of a classroom environment conducive to learning and aligned with the physical, social, and emotional needs of the children.
· Participate in the selection of age-appropriate books, equipment, and instructional materials as well as assist in language development and literacy skill plans.
· Support in meal preparation for children.
· Collaborate with team members, communicating effectively and contributing to a positive working environment. Attend all staff meetings, training programs, and conferences as recommended.
· Foster welcoming relationships with each child's family, encouraging their active involvement in the program.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
· Knowledge and experience of working with small children.
· Understanding quick reactions and movements to ensure child safety.
· Knowledge of common childhood illnesses.
· Skills in patience, time management, and remaining calm under pressure.
· Ability to be flexible with infant/child routines and manage working with different age groups.
· Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with co-workers and parents/guardians.
· Physical ability to lift, push, and carry 40 lbs., sit for 30 minutes, and stand for extended periods.
· Ability to work in various environments, both indoors and outdoors, with noise tolerance.
Qualifications:
· Minimum age of 18.
· High school diploma, equivalent, or a certificate of coursework completion.
· Meet all state and local licensing requirements for child caregivers.
