Summer Project Management Internship
Are you a hardworking and enthusiastic college student looking for a paid project management internship this summer? Join us at Young Brothers, LLC (YB), Hawaii's only authorized interisland cargo water carrier!
For 2024, one (1) summer project management intern will be selected to participate in the YB summer internship program. The YB summer project management intern will have the opportunity to gain valuable practical experience and contribute to the ongoing operations of a regulated business that transports freight of all kinds throughout the state of Hawaii. The YB project manager intern will have the opportunity to learn all aspects of project management by actively working on real projects with a mentor.
Duration: 90 days or less; May 2024 to September 2024. Flexible start and end dates.
Location: YB Administration Offices: 1331 N. Nimitz Highway (Pier 39/40)
Pay: $20/hour

Schedule: Schedule will be determined in collaboration with YB's Vice President of External and Legal Affairs and the Project Manager assigned to mentor the Intern at the beginning of the program.
Project Manager Intern Duties and Responsibilities
* Document justification for new projects
* Assist with identifying project deliverables
* Develop and update project plans
* Track project deliverables
* Direct effort on small, low complexity project
* Facilitates team meetings and prepares status reports
* Provides technical advice and problem resolution supports
Requirements
* Must have completed course work leading to a Bachelor's degree (B. S.) in marine transportation, engineering, science & technology, or a related field
* GPA of at least 3.0
* Preference for students who have completed at least two years of coursework
* Excellent verbal and written communication
* Strong attention to detail
* Strong computer skills (PowerPoint, Excel and Word and ability/willingness to learn new software)
* Ability to work well in teams
* Strong work ethic and ability to multi-task
