Summary
We are seeking dedicated and engaging music teachers to provide high-quality instruction to students of varying ages and skill levels. Instruction will largely take place at our Vacaville facility, with the potential to teach in the community.

YACM has immediate need for bass and percussion instructors, but we always accept resumes regardless of instrument.

Founded in 2005, the Young Artists Conservatory of Music is a nonprofit dedicated to providing exceptional music education to students across Solano County. Through partnerships with local schools, districts, and community organizations, we bring fantastic music instruction to the young people of Vacaville, Fairfield, Winters, Dixon, and the surrounding areas.
Our programs are built on the belief that great teaching and meaningful musical experiences go hand in hand, and that educators deserve an environment where their expertise, creativity, and musicianship are truly valued.
Job Duties
- Deliver engaging and high quality music instruction in your discipline(s) of expertise (30 minutes or 60 minutes)
- Potentially teach ensembles or classes as qualified
- Maintain an accurate attendance record
- Prepare students for public performances and recitals throughout the year
- Create and maintain a safe, welcoming, professional environment within lessons
- Maintain knowledge of age and skill appropriate repertoire and pedagogy
- Collaborate with fellow instructors as needed to contribute to our strong teaching culture
Required Qualifications
- Professional experience in a specific musical discipline, with a high degree of proficiency.
- Fantastic interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect to students of varying ages and ability levels.
- Excellent with children and young people.
- Proven ability to intentionally scaffold music instruction.
- Ability to differentiate instruction to varied cultural and learning backgrounds.
Preferred Qualifications (but not required)
- A degree in music performance or music education.
- Possess an understanding of SEL practices, and how they pertain to music learning.
Compensation and Schedule
- Private Instruction - $45 per hour
- Group instruction - Variable, based on group size
- Flexible scheduling, evenings and weekends.
Requirements
- Must be able to pass background check.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
