Responsibilities
- Design and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans aligned with early childhood education standards, including literacy, math, physical education, and social-emotional learning.
- Lead daily classroom activities that promote active learning, creativity, and social skills among preschool-aged children.
- Manage classroom behavior using positive behavior management techniques to create a respectful and nurturing environment.
- Collaborate with families through regular communication about children's progress, milestones, and any special needs or interventions required.
- Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws and maintain accurate records of student development and incidents.
- Incorporate specialized instruction such as special education strategies or early intervention techniques when necessary to support diverse learners.
- Maintain a safe classroom environment by adhering to health and safety regulations, including first aid and CPR certifications.
- Coordinate with colleagues on curriculum development, standardized testing preparation, and assessment strategies to monitor child progress effectively.
- Engage in ongoing professional development related to childhood development, classroom management, and innovative teaching methods.
Experience
- Proven experience working with children in early childhood settings such as daycare centers, preschools, or private schools.
- Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development, lesson planning, and classroom management for preschool-aged students.
- Strong background in child development instruction, behavior management, and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) or early intervention programs.
- Experience teaching physical education, literacy education, math concepts, or tutoring young children is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with mandated reporting laws, childhood welfare practices, and standards for childcare environments.
- Excellent communication skills for parent engagement and team collaboration.
- Prior experience with classroom experience involving toddlers or preschoolers is preferred.
- Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional credentials in special education or early intervention are a plus.
