Duties
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing.
- Monitor patients’ health by taking vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature; observe for changes in condition or behavior
- Support medication administration following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure privacy and safety
- Prepare nutritious meals aligned with dietary needs and assist with meal planning and cooking to promote healthy living
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks including cleaning patient areas and laundry
- Document patient observations, care provided, and any incidents accurately in compliance with healthcare standards
Qualifications
- Prior experience in home health, assisted living, nursing home, or group home settings is highly preferred
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring
- Certification in CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) and First Aid required, training provided if certificate unavaliable; additional certifications such as HIPAA training are a plus
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, dementia (including Alzheimer’s) or memory care needs is desirable
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with healthcare teams, residents’ families, and other caregivers
- Background checks are standard
