Maintenance Technician – 100-Unit Residential Community (Aurora, IL)
Full-Time | On-Call Required for Emergencies Only
Position Overview
We are seeking a dependable and skilled Maintenance Technician to support a well-maintained, high-occupancy 100-unit property in Aurora, IL. The ideal candidate will have experience in basic maintenance tasks and unit turnovers, along with the ability to complete daily work orders in a timely and professional manner. This role is essential to maintaining resident satisfaction and ensuring the property operates smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete daily work orders using AppFolio (user-friendly software; training provided).
- Perform unit turns, including basic plumbing, painting, flooring repairs, fixture replacement, and general maintenance tasks.
- Troubleshoot and repair maintenance requests quickly and efficiently to support resident satisfaction.
- Maintain the overall cleanliness, safety, and functionality of the property.
- Communicate professionally with residents, property management, and vendors.
- Be available for 24/7 on-call rotation for emergencies only (such as leaks, heat/AC issues, or safety-related concerns).
- Follow company procedures for documentation, safety protocols, and reporting.
Qualifications
- Experience in basic plumbing, painting, drywall, flooring, and general repairs.
- Ability to manage daily work orders and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to use or learn AppFolio for work order tracking and updates.
- Must be able to participate in a 24/7 emergency on-call rotation.
- Valid driver's license preferred.
