Food Service Supervisor
Yorkview Nursing & Rehabilitation – York, PA
Full-Time
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 11:00 AM – 7:30 PM
Every Other Weekend (EOW) Required
Yorkview Nursing & Rehabilitation is seeking an experienced and motivated Food Service Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our dietary department. The ideal candidate will provide leadership to the dietary team while ensuring high-quality meal service, regulatory compliance, food safety, and exceptional customer service for our residents.
Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate the daily operations of the dietary department
Lead, coach, and support dietary staff to ensure efficient meal preparation and service
Ensure meals are prepared and served according to physician-ordered diets, planned menus, and standardized recipes
Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local food safety regulations
Monitor food quality, portion control, sanitation, and infection control practices
Assist with scheduling, staff training, and performance management
Maintain inventory levels and assist with ordering food and supplies
Complete required documentation, reports, and production records accurately
Utilize computer systems for scheduling, ordering, inventory, and departmental documentation
Promote a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment
Work collaboratively with nursing, administration, and other departments to provide exceptional resident care
Qualifications
Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience in food service, preferably in a healthcare, long-term care, or skilled nursing environment
Current ServSafe Certification required
Strong understanding of federal, state, and local food codes and sanitation regulations
Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic dietary or inventory systems
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Knowledge of therapeutic diets and long-term care dietary requirements preferred
High school diploma or GED required; culinary training or dietary management education preferred
