Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role located in Modesto, CA, for a Certified Athletic Trainer/Recovery Wellness Specialist. The individual in this role will be responsible for injury prevention, assessment, and care for patients and athletes. Daily responsibilities include developing and implementing customized rehabilitation and strength and conditioning programs, monitoring progress, and providing guidance on injury prevention strategies. Collaboration with other professionals to optimize patient outcomes is a key aspect of the role.
Qualifications
- Expertise in Athletic Training and Injury Prevention practices
- Experience with Rehabilitation and Strength & Conditioning techniques
- Knowledge and application of Prevention strategies to reduce the risk of injuries
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Certified by the Board of Certification (BOC) for Athletic Trainers
- Ability to work effectively on-site in Modesto, CA
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Athletic Training, Sports Medicine, or a related field
- Familiarity with sports performance and wellness initiatives is a plus

YORK Orthopedic Recovery is seeking a motivated, patient-centered Certified Athletic Trainer to join our growing performance and recovery team.
This is a non-traditional sports medicine role designed for an AT who enjoys hands-on care, movement-based rehab, recovery technology, and building relationships across both clinic and corporate wellness settings.

The Athletic Trainer will work with clients of all activity levels to:

Core Role Functions
Injury Prevention & Rehabilitation
- Design and implement injury prevention programs
- Perform movement assessments and corrective exercise programming
- Provide hands-on musculoskeletal rehabilitation
- Support return-to-activity and performance goals
- lower patient load than typical rehab or athletic training settings.
- Dynamic environment working both in a rehab/athletic performance facility and off-site tactical and office worker atmospheres.
Recovery Modalities Expertise
Guide and educate clients in the proper use of:
- Whole-body cryotherapy
- Infrared sauna
- NormaTec compression
- Red light therapy
- BrainTap
- Other recovery technologies
Ensure clients understand benefits, precautions, and appropriate usage.
Patient Education
- Provide clear, confident, non-salesy education
- Help clients understand their condition and recovery plan
- Reinforce YORK’s whole-body, patient-centered philosophy
Corporate Wellness Support
- Help develop templated rehab and stretching programs for each site
- Build rapport with corporate partners
- Identify common injury trends and proactively address them
- Support growth of existing programs and enhance them
Team Collaboration
- Work alongside athletic trainers, massage therapists, CSCS/movement coaches, and admin team
- Participate in case discussions and care planning
- Maintain strong communication across departments
Community & Brand Support
- Assist with social media content creation
- Support local community events and outreach
- Represent the YORK brand professionally in the community
