What are the responsibilities and job description for the Diesel Mechanic - Full Time position at York Diesel Shop?
Shop seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our team.
Schedule:
- Monday–Friday
- 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- On-call situations as needed mandatory
- Overtime after 50 hours
Requirements:
- Strong diesel diagnostic and troubleshooting skills (required)
- Experience with preventative maintenance and fleet repairs
- Ability to perform day-to-day maintenance on Class 8 tractors and trailers
- Knowledge of electrical, air brake, suspension, engine, and aftertreatment systems
- Ability to work independently and efficiently
- Must be able to fully operate independently
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues
- Perform preventative maintenance and DOT inspections
- Keep our fleet operating safely and reliably
- Identify potential issues before they become costly breakdowns
