Responsible for performing advanced research and analysis work in support of a variety of projects and activities for the County Administration. Works closely with financial divisions of the Department of Finance, as well as with other departments in compiling and formulating compliance plans, utilization reports, cost benefit analysis, return on investment and other documentation. Performs advanced professional and technical work in researching, analyzing, and monitoring legislation, policy initiatives, and regulatory actions affecting the County. This position provides high-level analytical support to County leadership, the Board of Supervisors, and internal departments.
Monitors federal, state, and regional legislation, regulations, and policy developments with potential impact on County programs, operations, and strategic priorities.
Knowledge of state legislative processes, committee structures, and regulatory agencies, and the ability to build and maintain relationships with state agencies, regional partners, policy organizations, and local departments.
Provides operational program analysis, management research and support on special projects as assigned by County Administration.
Prepares concise and accurate legislative summaries, issue briefs, talking points, and reports for senior staff and elected officials.
Leads or supports the development of County legislative agendas and priorities in collaboration with executive leadership.
Conducts comprehensive research on best practices, emerging trends, and comparative approaches to support decision-making.
Coordinates projects involving cross-departmental collaboration, including timelines, deliverables, and performance metrics.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Government, Public Administration, Political Science, or Public Policy with 5 to 7 years of related experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Physical Demands
Must be physically able to operate a variety of automated office machines which includes computers, calculators, etc. Must be able to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for periods of time.
