Economic Development Coordinator

The Economic Development Coordinator plays a key role in advancing YCDC’s strategic initiatives in business, housing, workforce, entrepreneurship, and marketing. This position supports the planning, coordination, and implementation of programs that strengthen York County’s economy and quality of life. Key responsibilities include assisting with program development, marketing and communications, community engagement, and data-driven reporting. The Coordinator will lead content development for the 17 County Podcast and collaborate with partners on “Why York County” videos, and outreach campaigns.

Key Responsibilities

Program & Project Activities

·        Assist in the planning and implementation of housing, workforce programs, and business-support initiatives including Business Retention & Expansion activities.

·        Coordinate logistics for YCDC events, workshops, and talent events.

·        Support data collection and reporting for grant, program, and impact metrics.

Marketing & Communications

·        Assist with articles, social-media channels, newsletters, and website updates.

·        Lead YCDC’s podcast production and video storytelling efforts.

·        Assist in brand management and messaging for local and regional outreach.

·        Collaborate on marketing materials that highlight business, community, and talent opportunities in York County.

Community Engagement & Partnerships

·        Build relationships with local and regional organizations, schools, and businesses.

·        Represent YCDC at community and professional events.

·        Support YCDC stakeholder investor engagement and relations.

·        Represent YCDC on York County Kids Board of Directors

·        Bachelor’s degree in communications, business, public administration, marketing, or a related field. Or relevant experience in marketing, communications, community, or economic development.

·        Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

·        Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.

·        Experience with social-media platforms, basic graphic design, or content creation tools (Canva, MailChimp, etc.) is a plus.

·        Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and comfort with learning new software.

·        Valid driver’s license and ability to be insured; willingness to travel occasionally and attend meetings outside standard business hours.
