Position Summary
DESCRIPTION:
The Summer Camp Instructor plans and delivers instruction on specified topics to registered Spartan Prep campers (grades nine through twelve). Responsibilities include preparing and executing a four-day course and daily lesson plans; related to Engineering; fostering a healthy learning environment; assisting in transitioning campers to and from other camp activities; and communicating, as needed, with other camp personnel and campus offices. Camp will run from Monday, June 15, 2026 - Thursday, June 18, 2026.

Essential Functions
Plan 20%
- Develop a syllabus and daily lesson plans for instruction in the specified topic.
- Compile a list of supplies for the camp and coordinate procurement with the Office of Campus and Special Events.
- Prepare special instructions/needs for camp attendees.
- Familiarize with and prepare facilities for safe and effective use.
- Lead campers in instructional activities.

- Keep a structured, on-time schedule.
- Ensure site cleanliness by guiding campers through daily routines and cleanup tasks.
- Inform the Summer Camp Director, Camp Counselors, and Campus Nurse of needs and issues.
- Interact with parents/guardians regarding instructions and special needs.
- Share information, as needed, with campus offices (Campus and Special Events, Campus Safety, Dining Services, Campus Operations, etc.).
- Follow safety and emergency procedures and guidelines.
Experience and Education Required
- Bachelor’s Degree in the STEM field or education.
- At least one year of experience instructing in an educational setting.

- Ability to work effectively in a collegiate setting with enrolled and prospective students, faculty, administrators, staff, alumni, and the greater college community.
- Excellent organization, attention to detail, and customer relations skills.
