General Summary: The Plant Operator is responsible for the safe operation of a Sand and Gravel processing plant in order to maximize the production of sand and gravel for the construction industry. A Plant Operator is responsible for daily production reporting and assists with basic maintenance activities including greasing and lubricating process equipment, plant housekeeping and machinery maintenance and repair.

General Summary: The Plant Operator is responsible for the safe operation of a Sand and Gravel processing plant in order to maximize the production of sand and gravel for the construction industry. A Plant Operator is responsible for daily production reporting and assists with basic maintenance activities including greasing and lubricating process equipment, plant housekeeping and machinery maintenance and repair.
Essential Functions
- Perform routine inspection and maintenance on plant equipment.
- Ability to be able to assist with plant repairs, maintenance and housekeeping.
- Maintain material quality.
- Maintains constant awareness of safety, efficiency and displays a flexibility and out of the box thinking with the capability to solve problems.
- Communicate production and maintenance needs to plant management.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Day shift position, must be willing to work overtime and weekends as necessary.
- Prior experience operating aggregate plant.
- Experience with aggregate screens, conveyors, material washers-scrubbers and centrifugal pumps a plus.
- Must have basic computer skills and be able to perform plant record keeping.
- Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
- Perform all work in accordance with YBP Safety policies.
- The work is performed outdoors and/or indoors, enduring heat, cold, rain, dust, wind, and other elements.
- Capable of operating various types of heavy equipment and/or machinery.
- Physical demands include but are not limited to walking, sitting, bending, stooping, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
- May be required to work at various facilities
