SUMMARY:
The Accountant performs and coordinates accounting duties within the organization and is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the general ledger, timely month-end reporting, financial statement and budget preparation, and process improvement.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Summarize and prepare financial statements and transaction reports, including monthly profit and statements, cash flow statements, etc. for several operating divisions.
- Support finance and accounting by analyzing financial information to produce forecasts and financial models used to support day to day business operating decisions.
- Work closely with members of the Operations team and management to ensure a strong understanding of operating procedures necessary to accurately report monthly financial data.
- Significant involvement with annual budget preparations.
- Work closely with Accounts Payable and Operations team to ensure accurate coding of expenses.
- Prepare documentation for external auditors.
- Other duties and projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree with 1-3 years of related experience required.
- Solid working knowledge of GAAP.
- Strong financial analysis skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite, advanced Excel skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently on assigned duties with little to no supervision.
- Demonstrates an ability to manage a variety of priorities while meeting deadlines.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Perform all work in accordance with YBP Safety policies.
- The work is performed in an office environment with minimal noise, depending upon the operation of various office equipment; this will include phones, scanners, copiers, etc.
- Capable of operating various types of office equipment including but not limited to computers, copiers, and scanners
PHYSICAL CAPABILITIES:
- Physical demands include but are not limited to walking, sitting, bending, stooping, and lifting – 25 pounds minimum.
