What are the responsibilities and job description for the Math Coach/Talented and Gifted Teacher position at York Academy Regional Charter School?
SCOPE:
The Math Coach/Talented and Gifted Teacher for the York Academy is responsible for providing targeted mathematics support to students in the Primary Years Program (PYP) who are identified. The goal is to help these students to reach or exceed grade-level expectations. This position is also responsible for providing support to students who have been identified as “high achievers” or have qualified as “Gifted and Talented”. This position works collaboratively with others and uses student data to make informed decisions about instructional strategies for students. The responsibilities involve planning instruction, delivering small group instruction, and tracking student progress.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan and deliver focused, data-driven math interventions for small groups
- Plan and deliver focused, data-driven enhancement/enrichment activities for small groups
- Use evidence-based strategies and progress monitoring tools to support student learning.
- Use evidence-based strategies and progress monitoring tools to support the coaching of teachers.
- Interpret and apply assessment data to guide instruction and student placement
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and instructional assistants to differentiate instruction
- Maintain consistent and professional communication with families regarding student progress
- Participate in MTSS, data team meetings, and PLCs
- Maintain accurate documentation and records
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that is aligned with IB values and instructional framework
- Adhere to York Academy policies, the IB Learner profile, and the teacher code of conduct
- Engage in ongoing professional development to remain current in effective practices.
