Duties
- Lead kayaking tours along designated routes, ensuring safety protocols are strictly followed at all times
- Provide engaging and informative commentary about local wildlife, geography, and water safety tips
- Assist participants with equipment setup, fitting life jackets, and basic paddling techniques
- Monitor weather conditions and water levels to adapt plans accordingly
- Manage group dynamics, ensuring all participants are comfortable and engaged throughout the trip
- Address guest questions and provide exceptional customer service to enhance their outdoor experience
- Enforce safety rules and respond promptly to any emergencies or concerns during excursions
- Maintain equipment cleanliness and report any damages or maintenance needs
Experience
- Previous experience leading kayaking or other outdoor adventure tours is preferred
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage groups effectively
- Excellent public speaking and communication skills to educate and entertain guests
- Multilingual or bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse audiences
- Demonstrated customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor
- Ability to teach paddling techniques clearly and confidently to beginners and experienced paddlers alike
- Good time management skills to ensure tours start on schedule and run smoothly
- Experience in outdoor education or guiding is a plus but not mandatory; training will be provided for qualified candidates interested in developing their skills
