Yoon Chung Design is a Los Angeles-based apparel design, development, and production studio working behind the scenes with some of today's most exciting emerging fashion, activewear, and lifestyle brands. Many of our clients are founder-led, Gen Z-focused brands with highly engaged communities and rapidly growing cult followings. We help bring their collections to life through design, product development, sourcing, and production.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive Associate Product Developer & Design Coordinator to support multiple client accounts across product development, design, and project management.

This role is ideal for someone with 2–4 years of experience in apparel design, product development, merchandising, or a related field who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys balancing both creative and operational responsibilities.

While experience is important, we place equal value on organization, initiative, adaptability, and a willingness to learn. The ideal candidate is someone who can manage multiple priorities, maintain exceptional attention to detail, and keep projects moving forward with minimal oversight.

Key ResponsibilitiesDesign Support
  • Create apparel CADs, colorways, and presentation materials using Adobe Illustrator.
  • Assist with graphic design, logo development, and artwork preparation.
  • Support textile and print development, including repeat patterns, placement graphics, and print layouts.
  • Organize and maintain design files and seasonal development materials.
  • Support designers and product developers throughout the development process.
Product Development
  • Create and update Tech Packs and development documents.
  • Maintain garment specifications, measurements, BOMs, and construction details.
  • Track samples, approvals, and development milestones.
  • Assist with fabric, trim, label, and packaging development.
  • Communicate with domestic and overseas vendors regarding development status.
  • Support the product development process from concept through production.
Project & Calendar Management
  • Maintain WIP reports, development calendars, and project trackers.
  • Coordinate multiple brands and development timelines simultaneously.
  • Follow up with vendors, factories, and internal team members to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Track outstanding approvals, sample requests, and production milestones.
  • Identify potential delays and proactively communicate solutions.
  • Ensure project information remains accurate, organized, and up to date.
Administrative & Team Support
  • Maintain organized digital files and development records.
  • Assist with client presentations and development materials.
  • Coordinate sample shipments and sample organization.
  • Support internal meetings and project follow-up.
QualificationsRequired
  • 2–4 years of experience in apparel design/product development is a must
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Illustrator is a must.
  • Strong CAD development and colorway creation skills.
  • Experience creating Tech Packs and development documents.
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities.
  • Excellent attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively solve problems.
Preferred
  • Experience with graphic design and textile print development.
  • Experience in activewear, swimwear, or contemporary women's apparel.
  • Familiarity with garment construction and product development processes.
  • Experience communicating with overseas factories and vendors.
  • Experience using Airtable or similar project management systems.
  • Experience working in a multi-brand, agency, development studio, or manufacturing environment.

Efficiency, accuracy, and responsiveness are critical. The ideal candidate takes ownership of their work, follows through on details, and is able to consistently manage deadlines, development calendars, and project deliverables in a timely manner.

Work Arrangement

This is a hybrid position based in Los Angeles.

Candidates should be available to attend occasional in-person meetings, fittings, sample reviews, and team collaborations as needed. The remainder of the work may be performed remotely.
