Essential Duties
- Work with the project team in designing, engineering, and construction
- Coordinate and interface with CTDOT
- Develop construction means and methods, working drawings, and submittals
- Process and track change orders
- Coordinate material and equipment deliveries
- Process transmittals, submittals, RFI’s and change orders
- Ensure compliance with all appropriate standards, codes, and specifications
- Subcontractor coordination and monitor for contract adherence
- Research and resolve engineering and construction problems
- Contribute to effective communication between field and project team
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- With a minimum of 5 years of heavy highway/bridge construction experience
- B.S. in Civil or Mechanical Engineering preferred
- Knowledge of CTDOT standard specifications
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Prepare clear and concise reports and letters
- OSHA 10 and/or OSHA 30
- Must meet requirements to work in the US (form I9)
- Valid driver’s license
Salary Range: $90k -165k - based on experience, education, and training
Physical Demands/Working Conditions (with or without reasonable accommodation):
- Work in varying weather and temperatures
- Sit and/or stand for extended periods
- Manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination needed to use a variety of office equipment such as computer, telephones, calculators, copiers, and drafting equipment
- Visual acuity to perform drafting, review plans, & perform other essential functions of the job
- Occasionally walk on uneven terrain and/or across bridges
- May be required to work more than 40 hours a week and/or work irregular hours
