Project Engineer

Join a talented team at Yonkers Contracting as a Project Engineer at least 5 years of experience for a construction project in the New Haven, CT.

Essential Duties

• Work with the project team in designing, engineering, and construction
• Coordinate and interface with CTDOT
• Develop construction means and methods, working drawings, and submittals
• Process and track change orders
• Coordinate material and equipment deliveries
• Process transmittals, submittals, RFI’s and change orders
• Ensure compliance with all appropriate standards, codes, and specifications
• Subcontractor coordination and monitor for contract adherence
• Research and resolve engineering and construction problems
• Contribute to effective communication between field and project team

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• With a minimum of 5 years of heavy highway/bridge construction experience
• B.S. in Civil or Mechanical Engineering preferred
• Knowledge of CTDOT standard specifications
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Prepare clear and concise reports and letters
• OSHA 10 and/or OSHA 30
• Must meet requirements to work in the US (form I9)
• Valid driver’s license

Salary Range: $90k -165k - based on experience, education, and training

• Work in varying weather and temperatures
• Sit and/or stand for extended periods
• Manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination needed to use a variety of office equipment such as computer, telephones, calculators, copiers, and drafting equipment
• Visual acuity to perform drafting, review plans, & perform other essential functions of the job
• Occasionally walk on uneven terrain and/or across bridges
• May be required to work more than 40 hours a week and/or work irregular hours
