DESCRIPTION
Under general direction, the Environmental Health Program Coordinator plans, organizes, coordinates, implements, and monitors activities within the Land Use Program to ensure compliance with environmental health, safety, and regulatory requirements. The incumbent supports development review processes, onsite wastewater treatment system evaluations, water supply assessments, and other land use-related functions by coordinating program tasks, tracking and analyzing data, preparing reports, and developing public outreach materials. The position also directs, coordinates, and monitors the work of assigned staff, consultants, vendors, and contractors, while serving as a key liaison between Environmental Health, Planning, Building, Public Works, developers, and property owners to support safe, sustainable growth throughout Yolo County.

- Environmental Health Program Coordinator
EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS
The minimum qualifications required for a candidate to proceed in the selection process are as follows:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health, Health Science, Physical Science, Toxicology, Environmental Resource Management, Engineering, Biology, Geology, Hydrology, or closely related field;
AND-
Experience: Four (4) years of experience performing regulatory enforcement and compliance functions in the areas of environmental health and safety and/or hazardous materials for a recognized environmental health and safety entity as defined by state law, of which two (2) years must have been in a lead capacity.
- Substitution: A master's degree in Environmental Health, Health Science, Physical Science, Toxicology, Environmental Resource Management, Engineering, Biology, Geology, Hydrology, or closely related field may be substituted for one (1) year of the required experience.

Special Requirements:
- Incumbents assigned to the Land Use and Consumer Protection Programs must possess a valid registration certificate as an Environmental Health Specialist from the California Department of Public Health.
- Incumbents assigned to the Hazardous Materials programs must successfully complete 40-hours of Hazardous Waste Operations (40-HR HAZWOPR) training, as referenced by 8 CCR § 5192, within 12 months of employment and the Hazardous Materials Technician level training, as referenced by 19 CCR § 2520, within 18 months of employment.
- License: Positions in this classification require incumbents to possess and maintain a valid California driver's license, Class C or higher, to carry out job related duties. Individuals who do not meet this requirement due to a physical or mental disability may request a reasonable accommodation.
