Job Description:
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Yokohama Tire Corporation as a Compound Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining factory recipes and parameters of mixing or each component.
The ideal candidate will assist in resolving material process problems and monitor compound processing in using departments. Additionally, they will assist in resolving process issues that may arise.
This position requires travel requirements of up to 4 months overseas training and one month training in Continental U.S.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop mixing/component recipes and parameters.
- Maintain quality compounds by monitoring compound mixing and physical properties.
- Prepare statistical analyses.
- Establish tire cure specifications.
- Other responsibilities as needed from the Tire Engineering Department.
Knowledge and Skills Required:
- Knowledge of material science and chemical engineering.
- Good analytical skills.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Technical competence in compounding.
- Planning and organizational skills.
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering preferred, or Polymer Science, Material Science, or Chemistry.
- 3-7 years of experience with the rubber industry preferred.
