This Position is for a Raw Material Buyer with a tire manufacturing company located in Clay County, MS. Reports to YTMM Purchasing Manager.
Summary: Supports plant production by purchasing raw materials and controlling the price, inventory and delivery to minimize the cost.
Major Responsibilities: Purchases and schedules delivery of Raw materials; Select best suppliers based on the items requested; Have knowledge of all approved supplier; Able to analyze the price level of Raw materials; Negotiates prices and discounts with suppliers with proper preparation and reporting; Able to work with YTMM, YRC technical to approve new suppliers; Can report PPV, MCD and monthly topics to management; Can create annual budget and MCD plans for Raw materials; Understanding the ISO and TS concept. Can create job manuals and procedures; Maintains records of all purchasing documentation and procedures of activity; Can manage the purchasing activities by PDCA method, able to set KPI and KGI.
Requirements and Qualifications include: College degree in purchasing or related business field preferred; Experience in purchasing related work; Working knowledge of purchasing systems and procedures; Knowledge of tire manufacturing equipment and or machinery purchasing experience preferred; Also preferred experience with SAP.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Outlook and Power Point; Strong interpersonal and written communication skills including non-native English speaker; Ability to negotiate and work well under pressure; Analytical in approach to solving problems; High attention to detail; Quick reporting and sharing of the information with management and relating department; Must be able to interact and communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization.
Travel Requirements: Up to 1 months training in YRC group plants favorable; Visit to Raw material suppliers for meeting, or audit support; Attend expos to gather information of regional market.
